Concrete tile is the workhorse of SWFL neighborhoods — durable, available in dozens of profiles and colors, and typically the more affordable option. Clay tile costs more but holds its color for decades and is the traditional choice for high-end Mediterranean architecture in Naples, Marco Island, and along the coast.

Both systems, properly installed, are rated for the wind speeds our region sees. The tiles themselves often survive 50+ years — what fails is the underlayment beneath them. That's why most 'tile roof replacements' in SWFL are really underlayment replacements, reusing or matching your existing tile where possible.
